Fall Developmental Swim Meet, October 12th

Our team will host a Developmental Swim Meet on Friday, October 12th at the Sky View Pool. This is a great opportunity to swim in a meet in our "home" pool against other teams. Email your entries to logangators(at)gmail.com.

Short Course & Long Course

A short course pool is 25 yards (or, occasionally, 25 meters) long; a long course pool is 50 meters long. The majority of swimming competition in America, and the majority of the pools, are short course yards, while in other parts of the world, meter-length pools and long course competition are more prevalent. Most U.S. national and major international championships -- such as World Championships and the swimming competition at the Olympic Games -- are held at the long course distance.

The annual swimming calendar in the U.S. is divided into two seasons. From September to March, virtually all competition is short course.

April through August is long course season. During this period, swimmers train at, and meets are offered at, the long course distance whenever possible.
